Some children can be born with heroic traits from their parents.
Anyone between the ages of 16 and 18 is eligible to be tested for
Legacy Blood. This test takes place at Origin by placing the person
in a special coffin-like container and then casting a high level spell
on the person.
The majority of people are unaffected, but for a small minority, the spell catalyzes development within the person giving them new powers, usually refered to as setai. Three forms of setai have been observed: Fast Learning The most common power, found in five to six percent of the tested population, is that of fast learning. People who have this power gain life experience eight to ten times faster than the normal population. These people are highly sought of in the military, as they quickly become fearsome warriors or skilled wizards. (Note: most player characters will have this trait.) Special Talent While this is the second most common power, it is still very rare — only found in about 1 out of every 1000 people tested. Setai manifest this power after gaining their first level after being tested. Powers are specific to an individual and it is very rare to find two setai who share the same power. A person might find they have gained great strength or are able to fly at will. In almost all instances setai with this power also are fast learners (and are refered to as double setai), but there have been a handful of reported instances of a person with a special talent who did not have fast learning. Combined Learning The final power is the rarest, and is only found in about 1 out of every 100,000 people tested. Individuals with this power are able to pursue multiple classes at the same time, taking the best aspects of each class. Anyone with this power will have also have the other two powers. Any triple setai is formidable, even at low levels.
